OR 217 Active Traffic Management Project

DESCRIPTION:  Construction has been completed for the 13.5 million Oregon 217 Active Traffic Management project in Washington and Clackamas Counties.  The ODOT project includes design and construction of fifteen Vehicle Message Signs in a 8.5 mile‑long corridor of OR 217 and US Hwy 26.  Also included, were highway widening, porous pavements, installation of luminaires and traffic camera structures, retaining walls, and storm water detention and infiltration facilities. 

SERVICE:  Foundation Engineering completed a geotechnical investigation for the project.  The work including providing design and construction recommendations for VMS sign foundations and soil parameters and infiltration testing for design of permeable pavements and storm water facilities.  Findings were provided in multi-disciplined team reviewed draft and final reports conforming to ODOT Geotechnical Design Manual and ODOT Standard Specifications for Construction.  Construction services were provided including consultation and review of contractor construction plans and observation of foundation and pavement construction.
