DESCRIPTION: In 2008, a new communications tower was constructed at the City of Corvallis Public Works facility. The tower is a three-legged, self‑supported structure with a maximum height of 150 feet. Smaller support structures were constructed in the immediate vicinity of the proposed tower.
SERVICE: Foundation Engineering completed the foundation investigation for the project. Our scope of work included one exploratory boring to a depth of 61.5 feet, laboratory testing, engineering analyses. Foundation Engineering completed the investigation within a very tight schedule and provided design and construction recommendations for both mat and drilled shaft foundation options. Drilled shafts were ultimately selected. Foundation Engineering also provided observations and on-site consultation during drilled shaft construction.
