DESCRIPTION: Marys River Covered Bridge is located on Harris Road at MP 2.5 where it crosses the Marys River in Benton County, Oregon. The existing bridge was a four-span, ±135‑foot long structure with a posted maximum load rating of 11 tons. The main span consisted of a ±75‑foot long, wood-frame Howe truss supported by concrete piers, and the approach spans consisted of shorter timber pile trestles. Benton County rehabilitated the covered bridge in 2004 with approach span replacement and construction of new abutments.
SERVICES: Foundation Engineering provided exploratory drilling, engineering analysis, laboratory testing, and preparation of recommendations for the design and construction of foundations for the new abutments.
