Foundation Engineering has completed over 160 airport projects throughout Oregon and Washington.  Our experience includes geotechnical investigations for air cargo facilities, aprons, beacons, control towers, a fire fighting facility, hangars, maintenance/operations buildings and structures, rental car facilities, runways, taxiways, and terminals.  Foundation Engineering has also provided geotechnical investigations for landslide hazards and wetland sites associated with airfield improvements.  Wetland mitigation projects have included removing and realigning dikes over soft ground.

Geotechnical investigations for airports routinely include borings, test pits, and pavement coring to evaluate foundation and subgrade soils and determine the condition and thickness of existing pavements.  Construction observations and construction-phase consultations are also typically provided.
